God's Helping Hands |
God's Helping Hands provides emergency food services for the poor and needy of Mecosta County. The main source of revenue comes from the store re-sale of donated clothes, housewares, furniture and appliances at bargain prices. Angels of Action Backpack Blessing program |
The Backpack Blessing Program targets kids who access free and reduced lunches in Mecosta Elementary Public Schools and children identified by school and site coordinators will receive a backpack filled with healthy foods for the weekend. This program will help around four-hundred children this year.
This donation site will be located at Chemical Bank in Big Rapids. There will be more donation drops and locations posted. For more information contact (231)-796-1626.
Suggested food items include oatmeal packets, peanut butter, 100-percent fruit juice, pudding cups, fruit cups, granola bars, pop-tarts, microwave popcorn, canned fruit, fruit snacks apple sauce, cereal, and chef-boy-r-dee. |
